Building Kehilla through Volunteering and Socials
At Hillel, we believe in the power of a strong and vibrant school Kehilla. The PTA plays a crucial role in fostering this spirit by organizing various volunteering opportunities and social events throughout the year. We invite all parents to join us in making a positive impact on our school Kehilla.
Volunteering Opportunities:
By volunteering your time, you actively participate in your child's education and contribute to the fabric of our school Kehilla. There are numerous opportunities to get involved, such as:
- assisting during school events
- helping with fundraisers
- participating in Kehilla service projects
- lending a hand in the classroom
Class Parents:
As a Class Parent, you have the exciting task of being a friendly liaison between the teacher, PTA, school, and parents. You will have the opportunity to join PTA meetings, listen to parent concerns, and share important updates with other parents in the class. Let's build a warm and engaged parent community while supporting school initiatives together.
Social Events:
We understand the importance of creating opportunities for parents to connect with each other. Through our social events, we aim to foster a sense of camaraderie and friendship within our school Kehilla. Join us for family-friendly gatherings, parent nights, and other special occasions throughout the year. These events provide a platform for parents to build meaningful relationships and form lasting connections.
Staff Appreciation:
Our exceptional staff members are the backbone of Hillel. They devote themselves to educating and nurturing our children, shaping their futures, and igniting their passion for learning. The PTA recognizes their tireless efforts and strives to support their well-being. We organize monthly Rosh Chodesh Meals to show our deep appreciation for our teachers and staff. These gatherings provide a nurturing environment where staff members can relax, connect with colleagues, and recharge. We also coordinate Annual Gifts and Teacher Appreciation Week to express our sincere thanks for their dedication to our students' growth and development.
Get Involved and Make a Difference:
We invite and encourage all parents to get involved in the Hillel PTA. Your active participation benefits not only your child but the entire school Kehilla. By joining us, you will:
- engage directly in your child's education
- gain insights into the inner workings of the school
- develop meaningful relationships with fellow parents, teachers, and staff members
- make a lasting impact on the lives of our students

Party Book
The Party Book is an online program to throw social events and sign up for volunteering throughout the year that benefit both our school community and raise money for the Parent Teacher Association. This is how it works:
- First, families offer to sponsor (host) a party. Sponsorship (host) duties include paying for the event, finding a place to hold the event, and taking care of all details and payments related to the event (host families can use their sponsorship as a tax deductible donation to Hillel Hebrew Academy).
- Next, Hillel families pay to attend the event(s) and the money paid to attend the party goes directly to the Parent-Teacher Association (host families do not recoup the costs of hosting the events). You may get involved either by offering to host a party (all ideas are welcome), or by attending a party (a fun way to socialize with your friends, meet new ones, and raise money for our school).
